Corry & Christie is an award winning independent optical practice situated in the city centre of Aberdeen. Our aim to to provide an expert eyecare along with an excellent range of eyewear.
In recent years the practice has been awarded the ‘Independent Fightback Award’ by Optician Magazine for being judged the Independent Practice within the UK to have competed most effectively against increasing competition in the Optical Industry.
The practice has also been shortlisted on two occasions at the UK wide ‘Optician Awards’ for the title of ‘Independent Practice of the Year’, and Principal Optometrist David Corry has been shortlisted for the title of ‘Optometrist of the Year’.
In addition to being members of Grampian Eye Health Network, our practice provides eye care for four hospitals within NHS Grampian (Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, Royal Cornhill Hospital and Aboyne Hospital), with the latter two Hospitals served almost exclusively by the practice.
Founded in 1933, the practice traded for 71 years as ‘Eddie & Drummond’ before being re-branded ‘Corry & Christie’ in April 2005.
Ongoing investment in eyewear collections, and close relationships with suppliers has resulted in a growing contact lens patient base and an ever changing stock of over 1200 frames which includes many fashion, contemporary and designer brands.
With a dedicated experienced team, the aim of the practice is to offer patients and customers an excellent standard of eye care and an excellent selection of eyewear at competitive prices, and to be at the forefront of Optometry within Grampian and Scotland in the years ahead.

Claire has been a patient at Corry & Christie for a number of years. She joined the practice team in September 2018 as Saturday receptionist, and we are delighted at how she has adapted to her new part time role. During the week Claire doesn’t have much spare time as she is currently studying hard for an MA in Primary Education at the University of Aberdeen.
David and Gillian’s elder daughter Elise also works in the practice as a part time Saturday receptionist. Elise is currently in her final year at School, and hopes to study French and Politics at University next year.
